Initialize My Voice Mail
If you are a new employee or your voice mail has been re-initialized, you will have to record your name and greeting.
- Get into the voice mail system. On an ITE-12SD, press the voice mail button. On an ITE-4, press *5.
- The voice mail system prompts you for your initial password. This is your five digit phone number e.g. 51234
- The system prompts you to create a new password. This is a numeric password using the telephone keypad. Use at least five digits. Do not use your phone number. Do not use 12345. Do not use 11111. You get the idea.
- Follow the voice mail prompts to record your name.
- The voice mail setup gives you the option of using a standard greeting or recording your own greeting. Generally you should record your own greeting. The standard greeting is along the lines of "Butch is not available. Please leave a message at the beep". The recorded greeting is more personal: "this is Butch. I'm out on the prowl so leave me a message at the beep. Growl!"
- Follow the prompts to exit the voice mail system
